Do Plastic Wine Glasses Spoil The Taste?

When you think of a picnic, what comes to mind? Is it the glorious countryside that is about to assault your senses? Is it the thought of tucking in to the fruits of your labour and eating the food? Or possibly it is the idea that when settled, you can look forward to a lovely glass of wine? The truth should be a little of most of these. Not only will you be healthy by being outside of your house. You are probably going to be eating healthy fresh food, made at home by yourself.

So what wine is best for a picnic? It is to me a matter of taste, and also if you can keep your white wine nice and cold. If you havent, then plump for a nice easy going red like a Fitou or an Italian Chianti. A strong cheese is always a good accompanyment with one of these. My wife is Spanish, so we are never short of some tasty Manchego, which is similar to strong Cheddar. With a good bottle of wine, should be a decent wine glass. But is it good to take glass with you on a picnic? It is heavy to carry, and usually gets broken. I often take some plastic glasses with me, which are cheap to buy and strong. There sometimes can be a loss of taste, which is the trade off the consider. I like wine glasses because of the shapes that suit different sorts of wine. A red wine glass is often large and open, allowing the free movement of fragrance and taste. A white wine glass is generally smaller, to accommodate a more subtle flavour.

Whatever is your choice, just remember to have a good time and forget the weight of everyday life.
